A different kind of nursing pillow.
If you are a larger breasted woman you know about the trials and tribulations
of learning to nurse your newborn while trying to figure out how to prevent your
breast from smothering him at the same time. As someone with this problem, I
was really excited to try out the new breast pillow from Utterly Yours.
It is the only product on the market to provide breast support for hands-free
nursing. When I first heard about it I was kind of skeptical. Couldn’t
I just use a rolled up burp cloth to do the same thing? Once I tried it out however,
it was easy to understand why this product has won so many industry awards.
The pillow comes in four sizes and the site offers a sizing chart to figure out
which size best fits you. You then squeeze the pillow which is made of high density
memory foam, place it under your breast and allow it to open on its own. The
pillow lifts your breast and stays in place throughout the whole feeding.
I was afraid that my toddler would try pulling it out but after touching it a
few times she seemed uninterested. The added bonus was the relief I felt while
using it. My breasts are a G cup and pretty heavy. The pillow lifted them so
that it took the weight off of my back somewhat. I kind of wish I had two of
them to wear in my bra (oh yes, you can actually wear it in your bra by the way
to make nursing in public less of a challenge too).
The pillow is small enough that it won’t take up extra room in your diaper
bag and the cover is removable for easy washing.
